Sometimes i build a little wall or gate in front of my treb when laying siege. It makes it a tiny tiny better protected from enemy cav send to destroy it.
Not walling. I am not a bitch
I get usually get stoneshaft mining and crop rotation, even though I know I probably won’t get the payback in most cases.
I just feel *compelled* to click upgrades, just on the off chance it might pay off. I know it’s stupid, but those icons just beckon me.
mills have eight farms around them in a perfect square, no exceptions. if i lose i lose.
There are so many things. I almost always research town watch and wheelbarrow in feudal.
And I always try to play infantry and non-meta as much as I could. Like playing scouts-knights with Britons. And I refuse to learn proper build orders, I only know a few basic ones and they seem outdated at this point. I’ve reached ~1600 like this. But I do die a lot to people who’ve mastered tight build orders but meh.
I redeem twitch points for strats, and pick Celt HCA >:)
So far the only one who’s won with them is Andre_2i (twice, even!) 😛
I start with 3 houses and get 1 second of idle TC
Monks counter everything. I don’t care if it’s late Imp Arabia. We are making Monks.
Weakening boars with a TC
I’m not a pro, the seconds lost won’t win of lose me the game, but if I shoot one down It feels like losing several vills that early in the fame.
Build my bases nice. I’ve gotten good at placing everything fast but if I need a building fast (let’s say a house) then I’m not going to just place that house anywhere it’ll fit. That house has to go somewhere logical to a medieval town/city and it has to look pleasing to the eye. Two houses next to the blacksmith (one for the blacksmith, one for his apprentice). Several houses around the market, and the market must be close to the farms.
I’m not super obsessive about it, but no matter what’s happening in the game – whether I’m under pressure or not – I can’t place buildings just anywhere. It has to look nice/logical/real.
Waypoint scouting. I don’t care if it’s suboptimal, or if my scout pauses for a second to smell some flowers. I want it busy while my vill doesn’t die to a boar, or they don’t kill 4 different sheep at one time, or wood vills get stuck against each other.
