Which civilizations are best at protecting themselves with walls and fortifications?
Which ones are the most successful at “turtling up” behind walls?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Koreans, Teutons and Byzantines immediately come to my mind.
Brits are very good as long as they dont have to deal with mongol siege ram.
Long bows will snipe everything while siting under the castle and war wolf upgrade for trebs makes them 100% accurate
Pretty much any civ that gets bombard tower.
For Black Forest?
Probably Koreans, with free Guard Tower and faster stone mining.
It stops Mangonel pushes and a follow up defensive Castle means the game will probably go to Imperial Age.
Very few civs are capable of stopping the Korean deathball of War Wagons and Siege Onagers with BBT spam.
I don’t know about best but whenever i wanna turtle, I pick Mayans!!
Poles for sure.
If you won’t attack early you can mine the castle age gold from stone and use it to wall, tower if necessary and drop a castle as soon you age up.
On top of that they have the best farm eco of the game, you will be ahead even with all the time wasted walling.
I don’t like this style, very frustrating to play against
