It’s truly heartwarming to see all the Xbox players in the aoe2 subreddit discussing their experiences and reminiscing about their time with the game.
I started playing as a kid a few years after it came out, and my games against the easy AI would last hours.
I’d save my progress and come back later to build stone walls and trebs.
Murder holes were obviously the most important tech.
I’ve been playing Xbox for most of my life, but got back into aoe2 a few months ago and I’m obsessed.
I even won my second ever online game the other day.
I’m still a bit scared to play more online though.
I feel bad for whoever I played against; they got destroyed before I even realized I wasn’t playing the AI.
But anyway, I’m so thankful for this community.

I’m glad the devs managed to keep it the same game, expanding the community instead of fragmenting it.
Warming up to online play can be intimidating–but take in stride, because once you drop down in rating you’re going to get matched up against players at your approximate level, which makes the grind a lot more fun.

I played like 20 years ago or so on my shit home PC and i spent so many great Saturday mornings playing as a kid.
Just doing the tutorial brought back so many memories!
Got my Xbox homies to download so i can finally play with people 😁
the controls are outstanding on controller the wheel makes you efficient like im much better on controller than on mouse lol
Man I have been trying to work up the fortitude to play online.
Been playing since before 9/11, played tons of castle blood back in the day on Zone.
Online ranked scares me.

Xbox player here, my friend also on Xbox and I have played this every night, can’t wait to toss m&k and get back into my groove but the controller controls are honestly REALLY solid, and this game is amazing and I can’t believe the community has been here the whole freaking time,

Can pc play vs Xbox players?
Man, i was playing with my four friends last night, us vs 3 cpu on hard.
My friend who is a long time player mentions be careful with the Chinese and their crossbows.
I didn’t think much of it.
About 15-20 minutes into the game, the goddamn Chinese rolled up on me, with their crossbows, and razed my shit to the ground.
It was hilarious but now I am definitely afraid of the Chinese 😂
