The latest update for Age of Empires 2 has received a lot of excitement, but the inclusion of the Gambesons tech for the Persians has left some players feeling underwhelmed.
Despite this, the Persians as a civ have long been considered somewhat bland and uninspired, with few unique traits or standout units.
Some suggestions have been made to improve their representation, such as adding Steppe Lancers, Elephant Archers, or improving their Cavalry Archers.
Others have called for a replacement for their lackluster unique tech, or sharing certain bonuses with other civs.
The hope is that the developers will take steps to make the Persians feel more interesting and representative of their historical roots.
No campaign for them either :'(.
For such an important historical civilization they are very overlooked
Turks Huns Persians need Steppe Lancers added with some bonuses.
It might be wishful thinking, but: I am pretty sure they haven’t changed anything about Persians because there is a full rework for them in the works.
Zero changes to mahouts makes no sense otherwise.
