This was a personal game, but biggest comeback was when 8 of us wanted to play together so we set it up to be 3 v 5 (experience difference) and the 5 was crushing us 3.
First ally was crushed fast and I told him to hide in my base.
Second ally tried to hold his own but was overwhelmed and retreated to me.
So it was my base vs waves of enemies.
I was the mongols and had fully upgraded everything, but when I saw over 100 units barreling down at once with a mix of spearmen, carvery, and siege weapons, I was like “we’re screwed” So I sent about 40 of my elites to protect a hole in the base the enemies made.
And while they shot I focused on mass producing anything I could get my hands on while also having to expand my resource production to sustain it.
I had full faith we were dead because no way 40 unsupervised elites could withstand what I saw stomping towards us.
About 3 minutes later I looked back to see the damage and I saw almost all of my men still alive.
I was like, “How?!” Then I saw hidden between my carvery archers were about 40 monks standing adjacent to them all and healing each one.
Turned out my first ally in the very beginning didn’t know what else to build, so he thought “Monks will be good if I ever find a relic” and that’s all he focused on throughout the whole game.
A lot more happened but that was the turning point in the game.
About an hour later we won.
“The jerk store called, they’re running out of you.”
