Is There a Way to Play in Creative Mode or Without Opponents?

I recently acquired the game through Gamepass, and I am thrilled to be able to play it again after all these years.
My son, however, is not so confident, as he would like to play in a sandbox or creative mode without any opponents.
Does anyone know if this is possible on Xbox?
If there is an equivalent such as a pacifist mode, I would love to hear about it.
I told my son that the AI should be easy enough to handle but he is still anxious as he is still getting used to the controls and reading the instructions.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Start a single player skirmish and select the ai slot and change it to closed.
He’ll be on the ranked ladder cursing at his PC / console like us in no time 🥲
