Pathfinding issues has finally been fixed in February 24th patch

The February 24th patch has brought a sigh of relief to the age of empires 2 de community. We can finally play archers again…

This patch fixed the following pathfinding issues:

  • Fixed an issue with units regrouping after being issued a movement command.
  • Fixed an issue with units teleporting.
  • Fixed an issue with Villagers getting stuck in a loop trying to reach a resource to gather from.

I must say I’m most excited about the “villagers getting stuck in the loop” fix; they say it’s fixed but let’s see that’s actually true..

The patch also addresses two very annoying issues for aggressive players:

  • Fixed an issue with units prioritizing farms over other units/buildings when retargeting.
  • Fixed an issue with units on stand ground not always automatically attacking units within their range. Units will now correctly retarget units within range without a direct order.

I just tested it out and apparently if I patrol into enemy units and farms, my units chase enemy units instead of attacking farms – I’m a happy man now.

Unfortunately, the patch did not mention anything about the “desync” bug when a player clicks save chapter as they lose in the late game they cause the game to desync.
