They are extremely inconsistent and display two different modes when playing.

In mode one, they do not make any serious attacks and their sieges can easily be broken with the use of canon galleons or cavalry to break their single trebuchet.

In mode two, they coordinate simultaneous attacks on several fronts that even pro players would struggle to manage.

The game settings remain unchanged between matches, with only random civs varying, but even within the same faction, such as the Hindus, they can switch between being passive and aggressive.

They spawn units and despite having fewer villagers and resources, they can produce more units than the player.

They also seem to know where the player’s camera is pointed, similar to screen peaking during LAN parties, as they retreat before the player gives orders if they have not breached their defenses by the time the player looks back at their base.

I think you need a break from this game if playing the computer is tilting you this hard.

I’ve seen comments suggesting that the extreme AI is anywhere between 800-1200 elo, so less than half of a pro player’s elo.

As far as I’m aware, older AIs used to cheat but DE AI doesn’t cheat

    Yeah ive noticed this.

Sometimes when im bored ill do a 2v2 (me and 3 AI)

While im just chilling and booming, My AI ally will take out both enemies on its own.

The enemy AI doesnt seem to build any army.
    (All HD AI)

Then a few games later ill get stomped by them

It’s because the AI cannot properly adapt to what their opponent is doing.

They just decide in advance what their strategy is and execute it.

And guess what, an AI that sucks at walling and decides to boom will just straight up die to someone spamming military.

Allies in aoe2 commonly fall into two categories:

    1.

    They betray you.

    2.

    They’re useless.

    Especially on Arena.

They have a coward fast castle build but if you stop the forward they don’t adapt and will build the castle at home, go UU and end up with lime 60 vills 15 minutes later as if it were some all in
