What Are the Solutions for Online Multiplayer Lag?

Despite having a stable connection and no issues in other games, we are encountering severe lag in online multiplayer.
Has this community discovered any solutions to resolve this problem?
All it takes is one arsehole playing using some hand-me-down fossilized potato to ruin it for everyone else.
What game version?
Does this also happen in 1v1?
Try a 1v1 lobby against each other and see if its still lagging.
If so then something is wrong in one of your computers.
I assume singleplayer works fine?
I ndver understood why single player runs so smooth compared to 1vs1 online.
I guess the games netcode is just outdated or something.
