Vikings Unsatisfied with Current Situation Despite Positive Environment

I have been playing against Britons, Celts, Aztecs and other civilizations that don’t typically have a high win rate or extreme success rate in general.
Since the Vikings lost the Thumb Ring, their infantry seems off balance.
I understand that they are an infantry civilization and should be played as such, but why weren’t their infantry technologies lowered?
Other infantry civilizations such as the Japanese and Dravidians have access to FU arbs, so there is no real reason why the Vikings lost the Thumb Ring.
I think the compensation for taking away the Thumb Ring is too weak.
It would have been better to reduce the cost of upgrading Berserks or decrease the time it takes to create Elite Berserks.
Alternatively, Vikings should have access to two base PA, like Obuch does.
It’s clear that the Vikings need something to make them more competitive, as their S tier Arabia civ has now become a B tier 1v1.
I know I’m going to get downvoted for this, but I hope someone can explain it to me.
Before the Thumb Ring was removed, the Vikings were a better siege ram and arb pusher than the Khmer in the Arena, thanks to the Thumb Ring.
Now, the Khmer can do it better because of their equal arbs and equal siege rams, as well as their access to FU Hussars, which the Vikings don’t have.

The devs don’t want Vikings to be viable on land.
I don’t usually blame the devs for things but this can’t be accidental.
Vikings have no fully upgraded land units except the UU and the niche unit it is meant to replace.

– some exploration buff (base increase of LOS for infantry starting in DA)
– increase in PA when you have a full stack of infantry (shield walls)
– destroying trade units steals half the carried gold
– infantry can be transported by longboats
– some sort of buff to rams or siege towers: rams gain extra melee armour when garrisoned with 6 infantry or move 30% faster. (It would be cool to have a euro civ be a specialist ram option

on land is all about 3tc boom into castles and berserker individual unit micro rotstion to maximise regen unique mech backed by siege n monks

We’re blinded by the awful saturated new civ designs (Bohemians, Burgundians etc) forgetting how minimalistic and nice some features were in this game.
We want more gimmicks, more bonuses, more.

Guess what, they have the best eco in the game early game.
That’s why.
It was the most brilliant change devs have done, luckily Vikigns were never a fan favorite so they allowed themselves to actually go far and bold with the adjustment.

they cant get a bonus to archers to not make fast imp arbs too strong, they arent supposed to have good cav, so whats left is buffing infantry or maybe siege.
Most obvious thing might be making berserkergang useful by changing it to add healthreg to all infantry.
Personally id like to see them getting siege onager, although that wont change much for most 1v1 games.
Or they get some kind of completly new bonus, considering that their current civ bonuses are only three lines.

Well you see, they have this boat…
You see, AO2 in fact has more maps then Arabia and the Civs have to work in a balanced manner on all these maps.
