Unstoppable 2v2 Khmer Battles

    Siege onagers are the valid counter to elite ballista elephants.

    You just want to shoot at them and retreat out of their (small) range.

    Have a bunch of disposable halbs in front to protect your onagers against light cavalry.

    You need sige onagers with siege engeering tech (only some civ’s have that access).

    Otherwise, play as Korean, and use their ultra range Siege onagers with towers.

    If a civ doesn’t have siege engeering tech, then SO can be out ranged by Khmer scorpions.

    Bombard canons and hufnice can also be a decent against it.

    Block printing monks are also useful, but difficult to micro for low elo players.

    You can also use the anti siege specialist like magudai, eagles, and Magyar hussars but a large group is needed before engagement and requires micro for best effects.

    The thing about Khmer is that it takes a really long time to get to that point.

    The best strategy is to stop them before it happens

    In a 2v2, you should always be able to rush them.

    Learning a good offensive build order can help you disrupt their economy early so it doesn’t snowball out of control.

    It will be especially effective since Khmer like to spend extra time in dark age

    You can generalize build orders for Arabia to be “any map that’s hard to wall” and Arena as “any map that’s easy to wall”

    Onagers.

    And pick Ethiopians or Celts for them.

    If you wanna go meme way use siege rams.

    They are fucking epic against them.

    Why?

    Okay siege rams have +65 bonus damage against siege units..

    ballista elephants are siege units. + They have insane pierce armor making them take only 1 damage per shot.

    Load them with halbs for safely transporting them to close distance to elephants.

    Then unload halbs here.

    GG EZ, Khmer deathball annihilated and it’s kinda win, cause if Khmer player is doing only elephants he is prob some meta-only player and he don’t know how to use different units.

    I suggest for this taking Mongols + Bohemians as Mongols have speed bonus for siege units making it even easier for siege rams to pass ranged hell from elephants and ask your wife to load them with Bohemians halbs (extra bonus damage, just to add salt to the wound)

    Also Bohemians have Houfnice.

    Great unit with it’s bonus damage it’s also shredding ballista elephants with like 70 damage per hit and have longer range + much bigger AoE radius than bombard

    Basically Ram meme-way is best but kinda feels like you are doing chores.

    Also next big positive with this is that you can use rest of rams which survived for taking down walls and castles.

    Onagers sucks at siege.

    Most crucial thing: Khmer mains from 90% don’t know about ram having that bonus damage, so they don’t start running away with elephants and let them get steamrolled by a fucking rams lol.
