It is evident after viewing nac4 that Franks require an enhancement since their winrate is barely above 10%.
How can Franks be improved to make them competitive but not overpowered?

I think knights just need a buff in general
If you buff knights then franks will naturally become more viable

They have the best paladin in the game, arguably, depending on what one prefers, but their ranged options are not ummmm yeah.
And in multiplayer it isn’t realistic to spam out paladin and throwing a axemen lol so yeah
