It’s the perfect tournament, encompassing everything about what is great about the game and its community
For me Redbull Wololo was better but this one blew away all expectations for sure
Agree. 100% agree!
I remember Nili said something about cutting down on production because some sponsorship fell through.
It hasn’t shown.
Production has been smooth as hell, and have had great timing on little humorous inserts onto the screen.
Love the addition of the occasional action replay including player perspective on some of them.
Vodka continues to prove he’s a top tier observer.
Casting teams have been fantastic.
And this is an incredibly minor thing but I love the way they’ve weaved the sponsorship spots into the show.
The leet desk bounce tournaments have been great little asides between sets.
And obviously I think it hugely helps how tight knit the pro community is.
Seeing everyone at the LAN, obviously big Bucks are on the line and when the games start people are in pro mode, but everything outside of the games feels like good vibes between friends and that translates to a good feeling watching it.
There have been multiple times where my wife has asked me what am I smiling or laughing at on my phone and it’s just been me watching and enjoying the show.
I had a grin on my face the entire set that Liereyy and Hera casted, couldn’t help it.
It’s been a lot of fun and I’d second everyone who said the atmosphere is just really cool.
Yeah it’s a major tournament but you get to see a lot more of the personality of the casters and players alike.
RB Wololo is incredible and a serious production.
The top 12 or so Pros all know each other well, and its broadly been the same guys for the last couple years, half of them more than a decade.
This reminds me of my 10th birthday party, bunch of friends eating more ice cream than my parents would normally allow, and 2 PCs with Age of Empires on the LAN.
I agree so much about the point you made with the vibes.
RB was incredible, but this cosy atmosphere is just so entertaining and fun!
Dave and T90 especially are so good at their job (not like others are bad, not at all!).
Dave and T90 stands out for me personally as casters/hosts because whoever they got as their cocaster, they are able to connect with them, have fun and hype them up.
No matter how shy those cocasters are or how good they can talk.
T90 and Dave make everyone talk and come out of their “shell” and minimize those little awkward moments.
Their energy is just soooo intoxicating.
Again, its not like others are bad, i enjoyed everyone so far, but i just feels like those 2 can make this one thing so good.
I’m also finding it very fun to watch.
They found a perfect balance between a casual LAN vibe and professionalism.
