There’s a lot of nuance missing here. ACCM and Vinch played really well and had a lot of close losses, Nicov really improvedf a lot the last year, all other pro players say so. TaToH won an s-tier tournament only months ago, so he can win vs anyone. And so much more.
I totally understand if you’re actually basing this off of more than the last 2 S tiers, but if I take you at your word, putting ACCM in the same tier as 2 players that got RELEGATED in TTL2 makes no sense. ACCM, Jordan, Nicov, and Vinch ALL made it through the gauntlet to qualify, but then were all bottom 4 at NAC; I don’t think there’s a significant difference between 7th at 2-3, 9th at 1-4, and 10th at 0-5. However, ACCM and Jordan performed way better at TTL, with ACCM STOMPING Vinch and Nicov.
If it’s JUST these two tourneys, Vinch and Nicov belong with DauT. They got relegated, he missed NAC4 by one set.
Whatever the ranking, just glad to have such an activr and alive community. I missed Daut a lot though. I agree that Memb is a treat. Keep entertaining the crowd boys
There are some match ups that messes with the order.
For example TaToH has of recent a strong record into Hera.
Liereyy struggles a lot with DauT.
Villese being a strong round robin player, but not bringing any firepower into bracket stage.
I love Villese, but I think I’d put him under Yo and Tatoh, to be 3rd in the “Next Tier” category.
It’s controversial, but I think I’d put Liereyy over Viper, too.
Regarding the list I mostly agree that Hera looks now the most consistent one. I’d put Vipy over Liereyy due to overall performance. the same could be said about Yo and Tatoh over Villese, but the Finnish is looking now very consistent (the thing is that I can’t see him beating Hera or Liereyy, but Yo and Tatoh, although never favorite, may have more chances). In the “lowest” Tier I’d put Vinch over ACCM and Nicov. He beat them both and only lost 2-3 to “Next Tier” players. Agree with Honorable mentions. DauT’s gameplay needs to adapt a bit. New boomy civs have been arisen and he, who has one of the best macro plays, should make the most of civs like Hindustanis, Gurjaras, Poles, Bengalis, Burgundians or Sicilians. I want to see MBL focused on aoe2. I feel that, if he keeps his mind calm and trains with AM partners, he can do well on kotd5
Sorry to say, but T90 should also be in that top commentators. He’s capable of commenting, doing game analysis, strat analysis and still joke and give emotion
I wouldnt put Nicov over Daut yet
1) They played two sets on the NAC qualifiers, Daut won the first one and Nicov won the second one
2) Daut beat Nicov in The Grand Meele qualifiers
3) Since DE came out Daut won an S tier tournament and came 2nd in another, while Nicov has never played a 1v1 S tier tourney semifinal in his life
Nicov is doing great lately but he still has to prove himself more
Agree top tier, next tier and commentators
Very hard to predict last tier, it depends on who is in what mood on the particular day.
I’m expecting MBL to climb in rankings. He quit his full time job lately to fully devote himself to aoe.
