For those that of you who use straight archers , is there a big difference between going up at 20 pop vs 21?
I find that if I go up at 20 I’m always idling the tc a bit before being able to force drop enough food.
This is without a deer push
Also, with straight archers is full walling less of a “necessity”?

Rather, I have a mod that I cannibalized and I have the texture image I want, but it is filled with white background instead, which looks terrible ofc.
I also want to change the map panel texture, but lack a base mod.
I tried altering the map panel textures directly in the main widgitui but nothing happened.
Well the Xbox release be crossplay with steam?
I couldn’t find an answer other than generic yes about cosplay between pc and console.
But that doesn’t always mean steam bc game pass and steam don’t always sync.

I like the upgrade shine on buildings when high particles is set in the graphics settings but high particles also make it so units have kinda dusty footsteps which I don’t like.
Is there a way to turn off the footsteps?
How welcoming is the game for new players?
I’ve just picked AoE2 up and I want to play some multiplayer games after figuring out the mechanics some more, but I don’t want to wait 10 mins for a match and get stomped by someone who has been playing the game for much longer.
If there are any discord channels or stuff I can join for games, I’d take that too.

How do I get mods to show in Capture Age?

Shot in the dark here, I put a new MOBO & CPU in my existing case & boot drive over the weekend.
Did factory reset on windows and downloaded all up to date drivers from manufacturer website.
Speed test clocks in at 300 mbps download and 100mbps upload, ~60 ping.
But I am getting brutal, unplayable lag whenever I play online.
Every couple minutes The game will totally freeze for 10-15 seconds, and then everything catches up really fast.
Sometimes I get the “lost connection to server… attempting to reconnect” message.
It’s a wireless connection, same as before but I’ve never had lag at all even with my older hardware before.
Has anyone else dealt with this & have suggestions??
On Xbox I cannot set a waypoint on another player’s market for some reason.
Waypoints work for other buildings, what am I doing wrong?
It’s annoying having to select the market for each trade cart I make.
When you compare who wins cost efficiently between two units how do you take gold cost into account?
Like unit 1 costing 20 food 40 gold and unit 2 costing 40 food 40 wood.
Or is it just total resource number?

We’re trying to play a ranked match (3v3) and one of the opponent doesn’t have the “tick” by his name in the starting screen and the match won’t start, it’s been 15 minutes already.

Again, on xbox, is there a way to select a bunch of villagers at once?
When I lure the boar to TC, my other villagers watch as he dies.
Picking them one at a time to help is nerve wracking and dangerous.
