agree, Spanish are oppressive on 1v1 Nomad. And I personally would just start with taking away the building speed on the 1st TC. If Sicilians dont get that speed, I dont even understand why Spanish should have that. And from there on I would wait and see how it feels.Spanish can already get problems when you take away their fish. They can really struggle to keep up the Conq production then. If they also lose their ~2 vill advantage, that only gets worse and maybe forces them to fight for some water, which would then make their castle age timings worse.
I don’t want to see nerfs as Nomad has already only 3 top civs. Instead I’d love to have more variety civ wise. Perhaps Chinese and Mayans should get their vils back, maybe buff Vikings and Dravidians so they’d get a fishing ship out.
Removing anything before TC/before Feudal Age makes the civs feel extremely bland.
Well Spanish are not so strong elsewhere and we tolerate having Franks on Arabia and Turks on Arena, so I am not against having a standout civ on Nomad too. Spanish are good but not unstoppable!
Britons don’t get cheaper first tc.
Sicilians don’t get faster first tc
Chinese and Mayan don’t get their vills before the tc.
Spanish shouldn’t get their bonus.
Also, same goes for Malian and Bulgarians; and even Persians were designed with not getting the pre-tc fishing ship, because houses used to cost 30.
Remove the faster building speed on Nomad and you may as well kill the civ on 1vs1. Should get a buff elsewhere to compensate.
I’d start by just outplaying them.
Spanish are not undeniably the best nomad civ, they are undeniable in the top 3 with malians and persians. The easiest nerf would be to not let letting them build their first tc faster. But then you would probably see a bit more malians and persians instead so this might make civ variance even smaller
I think the first TC beeing build at the same speed for all Civs is a good thing. Sicilians dont get their first TV up faster too. And their castles are up way faster.
One way to nerf them is by giving them some economic bonus so that they don’t think of castle and conqs right away
They already have no eco bonus (as in 0). Gee, I wonder how to nerf them from that. Maybe “Villagers carry 90% of each resource”?
P.S. That’s an attempt at sarcasm. Just saying, as redditors are not very good at spotting sarcasm.
Don’t forget to rush your monks and skirms its pretty good counter it you built your tc on wood and gold and walled up
