Issue with the Xbox

While playing a challenging battle game, my game suddenly stopped responding.
It wasn’t stuck on one image, but it wouldn’t allow me to do anything such as moving my characters into battles or creating new villagers.
I am using an Xbox series x, and my game is completely locked out, causing my base and team to slowly get destroyed.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?
Did you have a similar issue in any other game?
Does it happen frequently?
