My friends and I usually have a single strategy for playing in arena that usually works.
We don’t like the map, but if we get it, we typically have two of us castle drop one person and distract them while the other person goes solo 1v1 against the remaining player.
This plan relies on the pocket player to help out with booms and other support.
Recently, one of my friends suggested trying Fast Imp Turks as the pocket, though we were hesitant.
We ended up losing the game and it seemed like Franks and Spanish were castle dropping my friend, so if he had gone with FC camels, we might have been better off.
Do you think it’s risky to use Fast Imp Turks as a pocket in 3v3 Arena?
Is it possible to make it work?
Or, should we have learned to defend ourselves better as flanks?
What do you think should have happened?
January 31, 2023 at 10:29 pm #7270contemporaryAmericaGuestYour strategy description doesn’t make much sense tbh but it is not risky going fast imp with Turks on arena pocket or flank.
The only risk is effective counters ie longbows with your weak eco, just as always

Doesn’t make a lot of sense as pocket as you should have one player booming.
Obviously going fast imp as pocjet is lower risk than as flank but you need to kill all three opponents super fast because any fully boomed castle age comp will easily defeat your strat.
And usually you cannot kill all opponents in that time frame which is why don’t do it.
Tbh also a pretty bad strat as flank.
It’s basically a noob basher strat that stops working if your opponents know what they are doing.
Just go for jannisaries in castle age and chances are you’ll be much more successful with turks.
January 31, 2023 at 10:29 pm #7272Zyklon00GuestIt is an all-in strategy, so yes it is risky.
It can definitely work though.
I just see 2 improvements that can be made.
Fast imp should be flank position.
Getting castle dropped is the best thing that can happen since you have bombard cannons soon and your opponent will have less military because they invested in the castle.
Also, your military is quite slow to go help from a pocket position.
Second thing is the the timing should be to reach imp at around 20-21 min.
You should be able to keep off an aggressive castle that long without your eco hurting too much.
Do not build a castle, just put everything on producing BBC + HC.
Keep creating vils with 1 TC but don’t build any extra.
If you reach 30 min and have not done significant damage to your opponents, the strategy failed.

But not a good strat for a pocket player.
Because in 3v3 pocket players has to play both sides and need mobility.
Also, not sure about your strat.
In arena its better to let your teammate die when he got 1v2.
Idea behind that is later fully boom pocket can easily 1v2 and kill them all.
If I am playing pocket and my ally got 1v2 best way to win the game is let him die and let him run with few vills.
Later you can kill both other guys with 20 30 cavaliers and trebs.

Flank makes kts and you both run through the enemy’s flank and pocket.
But I mean your flank should be spamming kts nonstop.
A good player can go 3tc kts while the pocket fi’s.
