I’m interested in hearing your thoughts about the most effective way to enhance your performance in the game.

I usually check the scorecards of my past games, but I struggle to pinpoint specific areas of improvement for future games.

I want to create a development strategy and was wondering how you go about improving your skills in the game.

playing 1vs1 ranked is the best option.

Same process as anything you learn.

Analyse, plan, start, control your result.
    1 Analyse the game.
    2 Plan your aproach
    3 Try it in game
4 Watch replay to see how you did where you can improve
Then start at 1 and repeat

Just playing will make you better as Well.

Just not as fast as doing it smart

What kind of mistakes are you looking for in your replays?

A few things I like to look for, starting with most basic:

    -idle tc time.

The most obvious, try to keep your tc working as much as possible.

CA tracks it very well so it’s easy to notice when you drop the ball

    -floating resources.

The snowball nature of rts games like this means spending your resources as they come in can lead to a huge difference later.

It’s especially tough to stay on top of this on open maps where you’re fighting frequently from early on.

    -army idling.

If you pay attention to what your army is doing at all times in the rec, you might often notice you had them just standing around while you were tunnel visioned on eco.

Try to make note of where you *could* have attacked with that army, it will help you to more quickly commit your army to something in the future.

    -bad choice of army comp.

Sometimes you might scout certain things from your opponent but neglect to process that info in the moment.

If you know you lost because the opponent reached a superior comp, try to watch with your own fog of war active and ask yourself if there were any signs from your POV that the enemy was working towards this comp, which you could have noticed and used to pivot your own army comp.

Put your recs here and I’ll analyze your losses.

Learn a few basic build orders until you can perform them perfectly being awoken midnight.

    That’s a good start

    It’s not rocket science.

    Practice, practice, practice.

I think getting better on your own is tough.

I recommend finding a group of friends that are 100-200 elo above you and run with them.

Play some 1v1s against them, get their feedback.

Play some ladder games while they watch in discord, get feedback.

You can improve alone, but it’ll be much more difficult.

Also, Survivalist has some YouTube videos where he coaches peoples.

The elo is in the title of each videos.

His feedback is usually applicable to whatever elo you’re at.
