I was wondering how many people like to keep the AI on during a game.

It seemed odd that the AI was set to active by default in a few patches back, as I find it inconvenient to have it on during the Feudal and Early Castle stages.

I usually turn it off at the beginning of every game (I’m around 13-1500 Elo) and won’t turn it back on until the mid-Castle stage.

    Early game, no.

After I get enough lumberjacks, and I’m not primarily playing xbow+mangonels, yes.

Noob here, what’s the reasoning behind turning autoseed off early on the game?

As I understand it, if you turn it off it’s because you want to move your farmers elsewhere, which sounds inefficient to me since changing vils off resources consumed working time by walking and it could be prevented by planning ahead your eco better.

And if it’s to avoid too many farmers consuming precious wood that you might not be floating for farms early on, vils waste time not working on their exhausted farms and again, it could be prevented with better eco planning.

In either case, the only conclusion I come up with is that autoseed is turned off to compensate for unoptimal eco planning and always cause extra inneficiency

To me there’s not any point in not using it because it makes so I don’t hear that horrible sound as often and I don’t need to queue up farms.

I never turn it off, very rarely do you lose wood that you actually desperately need at the moment.

The mental energy it saves by not thinking about the farms at all is worth it.
