Consequences for “Abandoning”

I haven’t played AOE2 in a long time, but recently started again. Unfortunately, I’ve already been penalized a few times for “abandoning” when one of my teammates leaves during a TG and I follow suit. It seems unfair that I get penalized for leaving the “matchmaking” early. I’m wondering how long I need to wait before leaving when this happens during a TG.
Just delete all your stuff instead of leaving then there’s no queue ban.
Just wait until the in-game timer says 5 minutes then you’re free to leave as you please. Keep in mind that backing out in the pre-game lobby or on the loading screen will also penalize you.
