For the past few days, I have been playing against the highest difficulty of AI.
This has been a much harder challenge than just playing against three AI’s on the “hard” level.
In my most recent game, I played as the Aztecs and my opponent was the Byzantines.
I utilized early aggression by making four Barracks in Feudal Age, gathering gold with a lot of villagers, and spamming Eagles and pikes.
This worked quite well.
I then put two castles on two of my opponent’s Town Centers and gold mines.
I used monks to convert the Knights my opponent sent at me.
When I reached Imperial Age, I used rams to ravage most of my opponent’s town, and they eventually conceded.
While I did win the game, I made several mistakes, such as not multitasking very well, not using hotkeys, and only getting one relic compared to my opponent’s three.
I’m beginning to wonder if I just exploited the weaknesses of the AI instead of actually playing a good game.
It’s likely that I did.
