My computer has an AMD a8-7650k and R7 APU processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM (in a single stick), and no GPU.

Will it be able to run Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition or Age of Empires 3 Definitive Edition?

I am considering buying them since they are on sale.

What would be the best Age of Empires Definitive Edition game to purchase?

You came to the shrine of AoE2 followers, the game that has withstood the test of time for over 20 years and to this day receives support from our hard working and benevolent developers.

Yeah totally not worth getting it, not even at the frequent discount.

Seriously though, it’s a good game with a lot of content both offical and fan made.

I personally don’t care much about AoE3 and never tried the DE version so I can’t recommend it over AoE2 DE.

I mean, don’t get me wrong AoE3 is not a bad game but I would only tell you to get it if you prefer ~~colonial~~ musket era over AoE2 medieval era.

Under assumption that you can’t just get both.

Oh and as for AoE 1 I think it is a bit too rough around the edges for people that don’t have nostalgia for it (beautiful memories…) and AoE2 is supposedly getting AoE1 as a DLC.

    anyway

You can refund any steam game if you have played it for less than 2 hours.

Buy aoe 2 DE on steam.

You have a certain time that you can spend testing it and if it does not run well enough, you can ask for a refund.

That’s a pretty old cpu you got there.

I guess the game will run with it but certainly not smoothly.

Well, I used to play in a PC with a Phenom 1050t OC to 3.8 and 8gb DDR3, while the global pop its around 400 o 500, the game runs fine

Gaming performance on this system should improve significantly by adding a second stick of RAM (it should be cheap).

Other than that- just try it, like the other comment suggested.
