I comprehend that the ultimate game can have 7 rounds, but any matches beyond 7 games are excessive for both players and spectators.
Sorry, hard disagree.
For the early stages I agree Bo5 is better.
For Semis and Finals (and possibly QFs), I think Bo7 is the way to go, because it pushes players further and for the audience it has the benefit of seeing more civs and more maps.
It’s ok, you don’t need to watch everything on the same day.
There are videos on Youtube.
Longer sets allow more variety in map/civ combinations which in turn allows more variety in strategies played.
We used to have longer sets, I’m glad finals are Bo9; it favors skill, longer sets test skill expressions, understanding of maps and drafting and playing civs.
If you don’t like sitting and watching that long.
Niki’s YouTube channel is where you should go !
You don’t even want to hear about the bo13 final for NAC 2 or bo11 for NAC 3 then.
Nah bo7 is way more interesting that bo5.
More maps, more civs, less potential for sweeps.
Bo5 is good for group stage but bo7/9 for playoffs as is the case here seems perfect imo.
Id prefer best of 5 and best of 7 as finals too
Bo7 is fine for this stage.
However, I will say best of 9 is too long at any stage.
It’s a sports matter rather than an entertainment one I guess, but maybe one day we’ll have Beyonce singing in the middle of a viper vs hera set, could be fun tho
I like Bo7/9 solely for the expanded maps.
It’s nice today seeing rocky forest and morass instead of arena/Arabia + pick 1
