I am interested in learning about backup civilizations that excel on open and hybrid maps since my primary choice, Teutons, has certain drawbacks in these scenarios. Which civilizations offer unique gameplay styles, such as quicker cavalry, more potent archers and skirmishers, superior navy, etc. so that I can diversify my strategy and compensate for my weaknesses?
I think it would be easier to think of civs that are similar to Teutons and avoid them. Bulgars, Sicilians, and Franks all come to mind as similar to Teutons.
If you want variety, try Malians. They don’t really excel at any particular option(infantry, archers, cav, siege) but they can do them all effectively. And their bonuses make them flexible.
Enabling random by clicking on the little yellow shield. It won’t affect your civ pick if the opponent did not enable it as well.
Koreans and Bengalis…
What about Lithuanians, Italians, and Japanese?
teutons are allegedly good on arabia actually
