AOE 2 Update: Shift-Queue Attacks Finally Fixed

In the latest AoE 2 update for September 16th, 2025 (patch size: 63.3 MB), one of the most annoying multiplayer bugs is gone. Units used to stop moving after killing their first shift-queued target. Now they keep attacking as intended.

What That Means?

  • Archers keep firing through an attack instead of freezing after one villager.
  • Cavalry clean up eco lines without babysitting every click.
  • Onagers and Siege follow through on multiple orders without quitting early.
You get where I am going with that...

Other Key Fixes in September 16th, 2025 Patch

Farms closed the infinite food exploit.
Poles bonus gold from stone mining now consistent.
Cenotes map always spawns the standard four starting sheep.
Spectator mode civs now show correctly after games start, making streams fairer.
Scorpion bug no more deleting mid-shot to blow up resources.
Console usernames censorship fixed, proper player names show.

Campaign Fixes

  • Attila the Hun #1: Fixed issue preventing follow-up event after saving Bleda, blocking mission progression.
  • Liu Bei #1: Fixed issue where destroying enemy hideouts didn't complete the scenario objective.
  • Grand Campaign #5: Fixed issue where ambush sites failed to trigger intended abilities.
  • Grand Campaign #7: Fixed issue where Hall of Emissaries on Delos couldn't be constructed due to disappearing foundation.
  • Grand Campaign #14: Fixed issue preventing Wonder construction on Delos due to disappearing foundation.
