Parrotparser7Guest* Briton Longbows are mostly redundant due to their Arbs being mostly the same. Longbows are just the cherry on top.
* Rattans have odd switching conditions and don’t really do anything they can’t with their archers until imperial, lacking range until then.
* Genoese Xbows provide a ranged answer to cavalry and do a nice job supporting ships. As they hold up the most important part of the Italian “Counter everything from a distance” unique ability, I’d say these are the most useful foot archer UU.
* Mayan Plumed archers have some functional overlap with Mayan xbows, being much like the Briton Longbow, except useful from the castle age.
* The CKN gets around armor troubles and does an excellent job in defensive fortifications, but I wouldn’t call it the *most* useful UU, since default archers are already flexible enough to accomplish most of the same things.January 28, 2023 at 9:26 am #5584

Miserable-Whereas910GuestIt’s a little hard to compare the units that are situational but super powerful in that situation (Rattan, Genoese) to the more general-purpose ones. But just measuring by what percentage of games I go for them, Plumed come out on top.

DjUniiqueGuestNo way Chu ko nu are so low! Like bro what??!. They only cost a little more than a regular Archer and does a shit ton more …. You have 60 of them and nothing can kill that (except rattans, that’s why i voted for them and Chu ko nu is my 2nd vote) , even in avg numbers they do great against knights and skirms…. People are not sleeping on it enough sadge.
And also rattans.. they’re literally huskarl with a bow! People are not sleeping on it enough again, 10 FU Rattans can kill 20 FU cb or arbs easily without even micro and can raid like crazy, again, costs only more wood than archers but has insane value, has 1 more atk than cb or arbs so they’re also good against knights if you micro!

SheAllRiledUpGuestMy bois the chu ko nu get no love. Those things fuck when they get full upgraded, AND they even get to go beyond that with the rocketry tech! Full archer upgrades from blacksmith, thumb ring, ballistics, chemistry, elite and rocketry. The damage is incredible. Mix in some onagers or scorpions (the scorps also benefit from rocketry) and you have a death ball.

Scoo_ByGuestI would say, Italians because of cav dominated meta, but Mayans are easier to get to, and can be easily used as raiding unit like CA

UmdeuterGuestlol, people just answered the question “which Archer civ is the strongest civ”
Plumes feel better than Rattans or Genoese bc they are more dynamic to play and bc they’re part of the Mayans. Never ever they’re by themselves overall more useful than Rattans (which kill literally all ranged units besides Skirms) and Genoese (which kill literally all cavalry units). Those are just locked behind two of the weaker early game civs.
