I ban arena always since it seems I verse people with strats that are way too overpowered and premeditated, maybe if people chose the random civ option more I would play it.
Well in my experience it’s a common theme that arena is rather unpopular between 1000 and 1600 elo for whatever reason (maybe that’s the elo range where people are tryharding to get better in what they perceive top players to do in tourneys and whatnot).
If that’s true bad news is you still have some climbing the latter ahead of you but good news is that the more you improve the higher the chances will be to get arena games.

Noticed the same thing last night!
Banned Arabia, favorited Arena, kept getting Valley and Bogland for crying out loud.
Only got arena 1 out of 7 tries
I assumed less people play it now because they don’t want to be crushed by Portuguese Fast Guns or join the dark side themselves

For me at least this map pool has made it easy to ban arena.
Once the new map pool starts with city of lakes, nomad, hill forts and northern isles I’d bet a lot more people will leave arena unbanned.
