What Is Your Goal (Elo)?

I am a player with a ranking in the 1300s, and I typically play around six games a week.

Even though that may not seem like a lot, I enjoy playing competitive games.

My ultimate goal is to reach an Elo ranking of 1600, and while achieving a higher ranking would be great, I understand that playing only six games weekly will make it difficult to become a 2000-level player.

    What about you all?

Are you striving to become 2000-level players, or are you content with a 1200-level ranking?

I’ve been stuck in the 13xx for over a year now.

I had a hot streak take me to 1490 but I have since reverted.

I’m also getting old so I think I have more or less found my level, and I have no interest in climbing ELO by abusing Portuguese or such shenanigans.

I want to hover at 1500.

It’s good enough for me, it satiates my competitiveness without letting it consume my life (as other endeavors did in the past 11).

Right now I’m at 1016, with +/- 1 month of ranked experience, but I don’t have a very frequent rate of games, unfortunately.

I’m similar to you OP, though I play like 5 1v1 games a month (and 50 TGs with friends fooling around). 1600 is a personal 1v1 goal.

I’ll settle for peaking at 16xx and settling around low 15xx.

I’m mid 1000s and I quite like the idea of around 1300 but it’s not something I’m particularly focussed on or care about..

14xx at least, so I can feel like I’m decent at the game, but I’d love to be 18xx or higher if possible.

I don’t think I’m ready to put in the grind for that yet though, but I might get somewhere over time.

Any elo that is competitive enough.

It can be 800 or 1500, as long as I don’t get stomped or I don’t stomp people.

The lower your elo the more chill your games are

I think i have hit the skill level of 700 elo which is good enough to have fun in teamgames and thats all i need

    To have fun..

ELO means NOTHING to me because no matter what your ELO, you will ALWAYS only win about 50% of games…

so the game will “feel” exactly the same.

So even if you are to grind it out and play a shit-tonne to “improve”…

you will FEEL like you are still average because your STILL only win 50% of games.

So to me, ELO means jack shit.

I play simply to have fun.

Sure, improving is cool and a nice goal to have…

but to have a mindset of focusing on an ELO?

    well….

    why?

It’s just a recipe for getting frustrated and feeling like you are underachieving.

The only reason I would focus on an ELO would be if I have the mindset of actually going pro and trying to crack into paid tournaments…

    then it makes sense.

Been playing for about 6 years now, probably about 3 years somewhat seriously.

Over the next few years I really want to break the top 5 US players which I think is around 2k1.

Current peak is 1720 so we’ll see
