If you know where the castle is going to go/where it would be most impactful, you could build some houses/palisades in that area if it can’t be walled out.

Or you can always go heavy feudal for map control, Spanish builders are quick but if they are going FC then you could go fast feudal into army to deny the Castle.

Then they would have to build it more defensively for Conqs and you then can go up and make monks/siege.

I would’ve had no way of knowing this, but…

I fucked up getting eco upgrades, my man had 14 vils on stone. 0 eco upgrades.

I guess I made a mistake by getting eco upgrades, thinking my castle would be enough to defend me.

In hindsight I should’ve used market walls.

But even that would’ve only worked if I knew he was going out with 10 villagers to build the castle faster than me.

if you have everything foward-ish then go towers.

If u dont then rewall ( bc your main gold wasnt bad, so its understandable), you simply stopped playing min 15.

You never make a monastery, or couple mamelukes to make time until walls or towers , also you killed your eco using the market that much.

If u were going to make a seccond castle then it was just holding until that point.

Should I have just gone fast feudal and massed scouts?

For him to just wall his vils in and get knights…

He was butt ass naked at home, you should have walled out of range and built your castle at home, then boomed.

After the initial push stalled he would have nothing but a castle attacking nothing of value while you’re comfortably booming on 2-3 TC.

Saracens would wreck anything Spanish could build after Imp comes in

Saracens can go up a bit faster than Spanish.

You do not need an early gold mine btw, just a stone mine as stone is more valuable than gold and you will mine stone anyways.

I think monks should do well if he manages to pump conqs, his eco will also be somewhat worse than you.

I always do 25 pop up in arena and Saracens can do even 24 I think. 15:30 seems like 25 pop up, right?(nvm it was 14:30, can’t see how anyone can go that fast and have a real eco at home)
