To calculate the gold cost of Wootz Steel (750g 600g), Crenellations (600f, 400s), and Elite Plumed Archer (1,000w 600f), add together the gold equivalents of each item.

    Wootz Steel is worth 750g + 600g, Crenellations are worth 600f + 400s, and Elite Plumed Archer is worth 1,000w + 600f.

    The total gold cost of all three items is 2,350g + 1,000w + 1,000f + 400s.

Generally people convert costs to villager time instead.

    Resources/resources_gathered_per_vill_min = villager_minutes

    It depends…

Conversion rates actually change as the game progresses.

typically, the later the game goes on the more value gold has until it finally reaches the conversion rate of the bottomed out price of 100 food/wood for 14 gold.

But before that it’s hard to say because it depends on civ techs bonuses, availability of resources on the map, location of the resources, current situation (ie map control) etc.

What do you mean calculate it into a gold cost?

As in you have to buy all the res at a market?

At bottomed out or starting prices?

Also, I don’t think it’s a good idea to do this.

Because when you just hit imperial, the 750f cost might be a lot.

On the other hand, when you are in a trash war, the 600g cost of the upgrade is way too expensive probably since at this point, 3 trebs might be much more valuable.

    So it all depends.

    The simple answer is…

    It’s not possible.

    Every game it’s different.

    That’s it.

    You could do this:

food and/or wood cost of upgrade/100=x

Then multiply x by 14 or 17 if you got guilds and the result is how much gold that upgrade costed assuming you’re in post imp with an opponent who uses the market.

    Depends on timing.

Feudal age gold is worth less than food.

Buying 100 food for 130 gold is common.

Post imp 100 gold is easily worth 500 food/wood.

All your techs are imperial (I think), so in that case I would probably use something like a 2x factor.

    As in 300g equals 600f.

Stone is always worth more than gold imo, maybe at a 1.3 rate.

    So 800 food/wood = 400 gold = 300 stone
