Unable to Participate in the Game Because of Crashing

This recent update is really bad and the game is not working properly.
Whenever I try to join a game, it crashes around half of the time, and then I get blocked from joining any more matches, and each time I’m blocked, my punishment lasts longer, making the game unenjoyable.
Additionally, the crash always happens at the same time, before the game even begins, so why am I being punished for this?
I’ve just been running it down vs extreme AI until patch gets fixed.
So far I’ve had decent luck by starting in imperial age.
Been able to play 4-5 games with no issues so far.
