Greetings everyone!

I recently acquired Age of Empires for the Xbox and I played a cooperative mission (Hastings) with a friend last night.

We were unable to find answers to two issues that arose during the game and we couldn’t find anything with a Google search since the game has been out on PC for so long.

We were hoping someone here could help us out!

1) How do you form alliances with AI units?

At the start of the game, Hadrada offered us an alliance to fight the English, but we were unsure of how to accept or set it up, so we ended up playing the whole game with everyone against us.

It was difficult, but we managed to get through it.

We think it would have been much easier if we had AI alliances, but we didn’t know how to do it.

2) How do you send food, gold, stone, etc.

to each other?

My friend had gold but no stone, while I had stone but no gold.

We wanted to know how to exchange resources between us.

We would really appreciate any help you can provide.

Concerning 1.

I believe i read it can be bugged, since u nornally just need to send a unit or william wallace (i am not sure, it’s been a while) to hardrada’s camp to ally him.
2.

U both need a market building to be able to send res to one another.

I cant tell u where u do it ingame after building marlets, since i am not familiar with the xbox controls, but u should have some menus, like a diplomacy screen and there u should be able to select how many res u are willing to send to him.

Considering you’re playing on a controller (not sure if the Keyboard UI differs):

1.

Press the menu button (the one with the 3 lines), go to “Chat & Diplomacy” and go to the Diplomacy tab.

Select the player you want to interact with and press RS to cycle through the diplomatic stances until you’re allied
2.

Go to the same menu, select the resource you want to send and press A to add 100 of the resource you want to send.

Confirm your tribute by pressing the menu button.
