Anyone else getting no sound?
Do I need to reinstall?
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10276herbertholmesGuestThe accessibility voice won’t stop talking, and I can’t figure out how to turn it off.
Do I have to suffer the tutorial before I can disable it?
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10275ExecutioneerGuestA diff level *under* standard?
Jeez, standard diff is pushover enough already.
I’d love to see a diff level above hard.
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10274trineroksGuestMy only few gripes are:
* I wish minimap panning was instantaneous.
As it stands when you hold down right bumper there’s like a half second delay before you can move the camera around the minimap.
* I wish there was a way to use the Dpad default for unit group hotkeys and hide the select idle villager/army/town hall/etc Dpad functionality behind left bumper.I use hotkeys very often and it helps to have instant access (although the current implementation is more than fine, just a minor inconvenience).
* It doesn’t seem like you can chain attack-move commands? After chaining 2 attack moves it just stops working for some reason.
* There seems to be a slight lag when queueing units from buildings.I’ll open up the town hall, tap A a few times over villager but not see the number increase.
When I reselect it I do see that it’s been queued up.
Other than that this has been an extremely solid port.
Probably the best classic RTS port for console.
I remember I owned Red Alert 3 on my PS3 and it always bothered me how it had a 50 unit population cap.
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10273NecrospireGuestOn Xbox you get a free mod on a time limit that you can not download.
Three mods to choose from in game, the link given in the news takes you to a site with more mods on that you can’t download.

February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10271Slythecoop49GuestSo is there a way to increase the reticle speed once you unlock it from the camera?
Upping the pan speed only speeds up the camera when the reticle hits the boarders, not the reticle speed itself.
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10270AntiComancheGuestHas anyone figured out how to enable/show score of all players in the match anywhere in the UI?
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10269giulianosseGuestWow, color me very impressed.
Once you get used to the control scheme, it flows pretty nicely.
Even some advanced features like queueing movement for the scouts using the minimap can be done with just a few clicks and even nicromanaging is possible (control groups and one-click formation change to dodge mangonel shots).
I’m not particularly interested in automation, but it can all be turned on/off with a button press.
Some QoL changes to streamline console play such as find buildings and auto-assign vills based on proximity or resource is a very welcome addition.
I highly suggest console players to get used to the normal interface and then change it to advanced to truly master the game.
It’s pretty smooth.
I dare to say it’s the best console RTS I’ve ever played (even better than Halo Wars).
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10268ssftsGuestI love the effort that the developers are putting into this game.
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10267djtrace1994GuestKey points for me:
The controls are very intuitive.
As good in quality as any of the Paradox ports (Stellaris, CK3)
Automation is great, and doesn’t get rid of too much of the management.
Like you said, the preset system is very cool.
I really enjoyed the first mission, it flows nicely and lets you have the option of building up a little settlement before attacking the English city.
Great opportunity to explore the game mechanics without having to worry about objectives or a time limit.
As you pointed out, there is no scenario editor.
I hope this will be implemented at a later date.
My suspicion is that the control system changes and lack of a reliable map-sharing system on xbox rendered the editor incompatible, but it is definitely a loss that is felt, at least for me.
All in all, I’d say it’s 9/10 port.
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10266VixarkGuestThanks for your review.
With this “manually give out priorities”, do you mean that you can set a custom porcentage/area for each resource?
Does it show the % value in each one?
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10265RastamuffGuestBiggest surprise for me was voice chat in team games.
This is the first time i’ve actually really talked with someone in an aoe game.
Felt weird.
Can’t wait to hear the flaming in the future.
Super exciting 😀
February 8, 2023 at 5:03 am #10264Cultural_Parfait7866GuestIt works surprisingly well.
I’m not a huge fan of the auto features in the couple of games I tried with controller but I can understand why it’s there.
One thing I did notice after playing it on PC for so long is that it has even more pathing issues it seems especially with military units and it is a little more difficult to sometimes select exactly what you want even with mouse and keyboard.
Overall though after spending the day with it I have to say this might be the best RTS to console effort I’ve seen yet.
It’s a long shot better than my days of Warcraft 2 and Red Alert on PS1 or StarCraft on N64…some of my friends didn’t have the luxury of a PC back then tho.
Edit: I’ve been playing it on Series S and performance in late game has been rock solid.
