I am passionate about playing Hussar/CA and have been brainstorming the best civilization to use.
My tech tree would be the Saracens, with the following civ bonuses: farmers do not need to be dropped off (Khmer), cav archers get a 10/20 bonus (Huns), cav archers fire faster (Mongols), mounted units move 5% faster with each age (Cumans) and this stacks with the Husbandry from the Saracens tech tree, and light cav steppe lancers get an HP buff (Mongols).
My unique unit would be the Mangudai (Mongols).
My Castle Age tech would be Silk Armor (Tatars) and my Imp Age tech would be Recurve Bow (Magyars).
Lastly, my team bonus would be a 25% reduction in research time for all techs (Portuguese).

It’s a little bit worse for those 2 units, but all your stable and cav archers are benefited.
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15172ParashathGuestI main Turks on Arena and always open scouts into cavalry archers.
Open maps – Magyars
Gold Rush – Tatars
Black forest – Mongols
Megarandom – Mongols
The scout vision bonus from Mongols is S-tier.
I would also rate Turks unique tech Sipahi over the Tatars Silk armor.
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15173Scoo_ByGuestChange UU to something that compliments CA, something like Huszars & a bonus will be extra hp on Huszars.
There’s no point in creating mangudai if you get 20% cheaper HCA with Recurve bow.
Also, replace movement speed with faster working ranges.
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15174Borne2RunGuestThink the team bonus of +2 attack against buildings would be the one you’d want, or +20% Archery Range Production
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15175BlockliesGuestI think the Britons or huns team bonus would be better, you have no feudal options that you are extraordinary at
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15176FuturalisGuestStacking all the food discounts on hussar might be better.
Gurjara tech, Magyar discount, Berber discount.
Hussars will be easy to spam with 35 farmers instead of 70.
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15177SheAllRiledUpGuestWhy the farming buff cav archers would benefit better from Turks gold production or Celts lumberjacks imo
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15178Lu_DuizhangGuestI generally agree your build, but I think these bonuses may be stronger:
Better lumberjacks (strong bonus from game start until end)
Cheaper castles (mangudai spam)
Free TR and PT (faster transition in mangudai/CA)
Cheaper CA (assuming this applies to Mangudai like the faster firing CA bonus does)
Faster firing CAIf we’re doing a 6th bonus, +20% health for cav or the Sicilian bonus damage resistance both would nicely round out the build
February 24, 2023 at 2:18 am #15179JcpkillGuestWould swap the castle age tech for sipha, CA already get innately high PA, adding more Hp would make them better vs cav, and able to soak the skirm arrows better.
I would go for the mounted units 20% hp boost (franks) & some other strong eco bonus, like celts wood chopping (replace cuman and mongol steppe lancer/LC buff).
I would also replace the khmer bonus, yes its strong but for overpowered civs you want a little more than what this is just offering, especially for a wood-gold based eco.
Could mix chinese cheaper techs & burgundians earlier (and also cheaper) techs to make it a economic powerhouse.
I would also change the mangudai for the berber camel archer, thing is really powerful as-is with an almost neglegable eco bonus.
magine having all these on top.
Alternatively why not the kipchak?
Bracer + recurve bow + tons of hp makes its effectiveness at least double instantly, plus its dirt cheap.
There is also room for argument over franks cheaper castles, as well as room for briton faster working archery ranges if you want to go *cav archer* and not UU CA.
