What strategies can be employed to counter the Sicilians’ towers, which seem to provide an unfair advantage that requires payment?
So far, I haven’t discovered any effective defensive measures to use during the beginning stages of the game.
Donjons are less cost effective than towers (damage wise) the only advantage is they can produce units and self-upgrade with age up )like Koreans)
Ya archers and knights usually wipe me out, and ofc siege takes out both defenses and production with one stone
Sicilians really don’t build barracks since searjents function as upgraded militia
Just to clarify the argument:
Step 1 lose to a strat that most people feel is pretty underwhelming.
Step 2 identify this strat as op.
Step 3 conclude it’s a pay2win situation.
Doesn’t make much sense to me.
Mirror the units and dont overreact to castledrops
Don’t worry, it’s pretty much a given that they will be nerfed next patch anyway.
don’t be fooled by the 2×2 size, donjons are essentially the same as watch towers and can be battered down by villagers
Alt f4
donjons are bad/weak and there is nothing special about them.

Dont play to ” counter”, play to win.
If you get donjon rushed try to build defensive towers near other resources to stop more serjeants from building donjons, get on stone ASAP and use scouts or archers+vills to take down your opponent’s donjons and make sure to counter raid and kill their stone miners.
By castle age just expect knights and use the regular counters of camels, pikes and monks.
Have you tried attacking the Donjons with vills or walling the Donjons?
Nerf Sicilians
oh no another nerf
You nerf them again
Funnily enough, if you tower rush a Sicilian player who isn’t expecting it, they only have the stone for one donjon, and if you tower their stone….
makes it hard if they don’t have a market or the gold to buy more stone
Try them yourself and see how others counter you.
