Should Lithuanian Winged Hussars Possess Unique Qualities?

I find it peculiar that both the Poles and Lithuanians have Winged Hussars, however only the Polish version is unique.

The Lithuanian Winged Hussars are generic and I think it is a shame that there is no effort to make them stand out.

I understand that they were added in later, but I believe something can be done to make them more individual.

    What are your thoughts?

Lithuanian hussars have all the armour upgrades; in that sense they are different enough from the polish ones.

    Do they need smth else?

Wouldn’t say so, Lithuanians are in a decent spot albeit a bit bland.

    They’re practically a unique unit!

    I’d call that special!

One special thing about Lithuanian Winged Hussars is that they exist.

This is an especially striking contrast to most other civs’ Winged Hussars, which don’t exist.

The only exception is Polish Winged Hussars, which do exist, but miss the last armor upgrade.

Thus, Lithuanian Winged Hussars have TWO special things about them: a) they exist, and b) they have the last armor upgrade.

Eh are they supposed to be special?

When I hear about Winged Hussars, it’s always about the Poles.

Was a bit surprised to see Lithuanians have them too, then got to play the campaigns and learnt about the historical context of two civs’ relationship.

    Winged hussar are never generic.

Compared to their old regular hussar they have +4 vs gunpowder, +2 vs monks, +1 melee armor and +5 health, while costing +100food and +200 gold more to get the upgrade, you no longer get/need blast furnace so it’s overall cheaper to get to.

You’d be surprised at how good the +4 against gunpowder is, when considering sniping BBC’s or taking out Hand cannons or unique gunpowder units like conqs, jani’s, organ guns and the hussite wagon.

The extra melee armor/health means they 15 hits from other FU hussar while it’s normally 12 hits, that’s a 20% bump in survivability.

Against halbs it’s the same though, still, I wouldn’t call the above “buff” to be generic, their knights got nerfed when blast furnace got removed, but that pushes them towards their UU, and made their hussar play better, I think it was a good change, as paladin with +8 were pretty opressive.
