Jordan is currently ranked number one on the #1v1 RM Ladder and was on track to reach 2800 points, but has since fallen behind.

This ladder is seen as a more reliable indicator of overall skill than tournaments, as it takes into account a variety of factors such as the percentage of wins, number of games played, and the range of opponents faced (not just the top 10).

How should we judge someone’s skill level?

Should we consider tournament results, or should we focus more on the ladder where ping and other variables come into play?

    What are your thoughts?

Ladder only tells about ladder, tournaments are totally different and better indicator of skill imo.

Ladder for these top guys doesn’t matter.

They don’t wall, they play random, they meme for chat.

They may try harder if they’re playing a top 10 player but even then they don’t play the strats they’re preparing for tournaments

The ladder doesn’t decide who’s number 1, the ladder shows who among the top players is currently on the most successful win/loss streak.

This is influenced by dozens of factors.

Tournament wins are a better indication of who is currently on top.

If you look at it in a vaccume it means absolutely nothing, “skill” doesn’t really exist – and what you consider to be skill is just a variety of abilities.

Tournament are a better indicator, as they’re the competetive Mode.

You can say viper is better than me, and I’d agree, but hera vs viper?

Hera does some things better, viper others.

Maybe the skills viper excels at brings more tournament wins.

Ladder Elo is not the best indicator as there are so many different factors.

Some players take it less seriously so it might not fully reflect it, and also time of day will also be a massive factor (i.e.

how many top-rated players are online).
