    This is obviously a joke.

    It is not costed because it is just a joke.

    Several different civilizations are presented, each with their own unique upgrade or bonus for their villagers.

    For example, the Malay have their villagers upgraded to Karambit Warriors while the Incas upgrade their Slingers with bonuses from the Loom and Infantry Blacksmith upgrades.

    The Poles triple the health and HP regen rate of their villagers while the Spanish give their villagers an attack stance.

    Each of these upgrades or bonuses is unique to its own civilization and not found in any other.

    Sounds like the Medusa cheat from Age of Empires I, where villagers would turn into Black Riders when killed, which would turn into Big Bertha catapults when killed.

    I know this is a joke but a mapmode with this would be such a shitshow I love it.

    Except Malay where it’s arguably a downgrade.

    I’ve a few to add.

    Byzantines: *Rhomaioi* – Villagers upgraded to Legionaires; Trade Carts upgraded to Centurions.

    Celts: *Mel Gibson* – Villagers upgraded to Woad Raiders if and only if an opponent is playing Britons.

    Chinese: *Mandate of Heaven* – Villagers upgraded to Two-Handed Swordsmen.

    If the player has researched fewer than 60% of available technologies, these Two-Handed Swordsmen immediately become hostile.

    Ethiopians: *Even More Royal Heirs* – Villagers upgraded to Shotels, who themselves spawn another Shotel when killed.

    Franks: *Jacquerie* – Villagers upgraded to Halberdiers who are also aggressive toward the player’s own Knight-line units.

    Goths: *Flying Buttress* – Villagers upgraded to Cathedrals.

    Gain 500 gold per minute from tourism.

    Incas: *Hey, Remember Couriers?* – Villagers upgraded to Eagle Warriors.

    These Eagle Warriors can also act as trade carts.

    Italians: *Guelphs and Ghibellines* – Villagers have a 50% chance to upgrade to a Genoese Crossbowman or a Condottiero.

    The Genoese Crossbowmen and Condottieros are hostile toward one another unless they are within a monk’s conversion range.

    Japanese: *Ashigaru* – Villagers upgraded to Pikemen.

    Pikemen can now collect from Farms, but no other resources.

    Mongols: *Born in the Saddle* – Villagers converted to Mangudai.

    These Mangudai start with 5 HP, 1 damage, and 1 Range, and these stats increase by 5, 1, and 1 respectively every ingame minute until reaching the stats of Mangudai trained from a Castle.

    Poles: *Liberum Veto* – Revoke effect of Szlachta Privileges.

    Villagers upgraded to Folwarks.

    Any Teuton, Viking, or Slav allies immediately set stance to enemy irrevocably.

    Portuguese: *Volta do Mar* – Fishing Ships upgraded to Caravels.

    Villagers bordering a water tile also upgraded to Caravels.

    Villagers on land tiles immediately path toward the nearest water source, becoming Caravels once they reach a shoreline.

    If no water exists on the map, Villagers upgraded to Conquistadors.

    Slavs: *Vodka* – Villagers gain 100 HP, +5 attack, +3/+3 armor, and also recover from death like Konniks.

    Turks: *Ghazis* – Villagers upgraded to an even mix of Cavalry Archers and Hussars.

    These military units do 10% more damage against Byzantine, Frank, Spanish, Sicilian, Portuguese, Italian, Teuton, Pole, Magyar, and Slav units, but 10% less damage against Turk, Saracen, Berber, Persian, Hindustani, Tatar, and Mongol units.

    Vikings: *Less Talking, More Raiding*: Villagers upgraded to Berserks.

    These Berserks siphon gold from opponent stockpiles when attacking that opponent’s buildings.

    You receive 10% of the siphoned gold; the rest is their share.
