Hello,
During a 4v4 team game on the Michi map in the ranked ladder, I encountered a player who employed a unique technique that may be considered an exploit.
This player selected the Bengalis civilization which provides two villagers for free per town center when entering the Imperial Age.
They proceeded to construct 110 town centers and a few markets before deleting all their villagers and creating 200 trade carts.
Upon reaching the Imperial Age, they were able to attain an additional 220 villagers, granting them a population of over 400 in a 200 pop game.
While this may be a legitimate game mechanic, it feels like an abuse due to its ability to surpass the pop limit.
Attached are some screenshots and replays for reference.
What a genius
Idk man, looking at all the stats and screenshots you’ve posted in the thread….
l understand how that’s possible but seems off still.
Definitely smurfs no matter how you look at it imo
Edit: Anyway to find the recorded game?
If you actually choose to play Michi, you deserve no better. 😄
So was he slinging resources to his allies or what?
Got a screenshot of the military tab?
I’d be curious to see the army count & K/D
Jokes aside, it’s always been possible to get above pop cap in certain ways.
Back in the campaigns I would set up monks and get to like double my pop cap with converted units.
Plenty of time for you to oneger through the trees and punish that type of greed.
Funny strat from them though 🙂
I HATE MICHI.
But I knows its because my late game sucks and needs more practice.
God this sends me back to lan games on the orginal game!
At castle age my friend would just spam build villagers and trade carts and send them to me, I’d change my status to neutral and use monks to convert them and put them to work and send him all the resources to build an army
It worked a few times….
Now imagine doing that with Sicilians and First Crusade …
You can also exceed pop limit by converting enemy units with monks.
Its not an exploit, not unfair at all but verrry entertaining 🙂
I’m sure in one game I converted over 100 villagers.
It’s not an exploit, the game allows you to have more pop than pop space, the only limiting factor to pop cap is not being able to “produce units”
Technically you can do the same thing with conversions.
Does anyone else feel bad for those 200 villagers who had to sacrifice themselves?
