Lately, I have been playing a lot of games with an observer.
It does not matter if it is a human or not, it still disrupts my concentration and makes it hard for me to focus, especially when I am playing on nomad.
When I review the game afterwards, I often see that my opponents sent their scout/sheep straight to the resource or military to my base and attacked my resources without scouting.
I wish there was an option to turn off the spectator.
The slight delay that is provided is not enough.
If someone wants their friends to watch the game, it would be great if there was a specific game ID that the spectator could use to only view the explored map.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13887Borne2RunGuestThere should be a 2-3 minute delay between what the spectators see and what is going on for the players.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13888da_m_n_aoeGuestWell if you host your owned game you can do so but ranked should have specs enabled.
Btw afaik they didn’t fix the spec display bug so a lot of times when it says so there actually isn’t anyone spectating.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13889Apprehensive_Alps_30GuestAnyone who thinks they are losing games to someone abusing a spectator…
Did you take your meds?
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13890thesaiyanprinc3GuestI’ve noticed this too and think it should be optional.
At the very least there should be a more significant delay or an unexplored view mode or both.
It does seem like people are abusing it, but it’s hard to be sure.
I’ve definitely noticed the same thing, people bee lining right for my sheep or boar.
It’s only happened a couple times but enough to be frustrating.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13891Denikin_TsarGuestYou are playing for fun with random people, presumably at a noob ELO like most of us and you are worried about spectators “stream snipping” (even though you are not streaming is that the term)?
What percentage of people, at our noob ELO, ask their friends to waste their time spectating their games vs random opponents so that they can relay that info to them?
This is really a concern for you?
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13892h3llkite28GuestHard disagree.
Watching and analyzing games of friends (and having them reviewing mine) is a vital aspect of getting a better player.
If some would use it for cheating they’re cowards.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13893SheAllRiledUpGuestSpectators cannot really help your opponent cheat because they are minutes behind.
Could have just been dumb luck his scouts go to your res.
At any rate you can be walled in before any kind of scout push can do much especially if you scout his scout rush ahead of time and react accordingly.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13894Parrotparser7GuestAll for it.
It’s unnerving, knowing that the enemy has an all-seeing eye backing them up.
February 19, 2023 at 5:30 am #13895Unique_Carpet1901GuestDude.
You are overthinking this.
Who cares if they win by cheating.
Just say gg and move on to next game.
