I’m just starting to learn this game, and I’m really taken by the Huns.
I’m pretty good at getting to the Feudal Age quickly and sending out Cavalry in an early rush to disrupt enemy Villagers.
But I still feel like I’m slow.
I’m able to consistently produce Villagers until I reach 21 or 22, and usually I’m the first or second player to advance to the Feudal Age in team games.
After that, I’m not sure what to do.
I usually just keep creating Hussars and Cavalry, since they’re inexpensive and can be powerful in numbers.
I also try to build Castles and make Trebuchets early.
I’m still a beginner, so I’m not sure how to be faster or what troops to create.
Should I go for counters?
Or should I just keep pumping out more troops?
I’m at the bottom of the elo rankings and I’m still learning how to play.
Everything I see online seems too advanced for me right now.
I haven’t learned the counters yet, I don’t have a good build order, and I’m not sure how I can win.
I only play team games, never 1v1.
February 17, 2023 at 6:21 pm #13311Win_0r_DieGuestNew xbox noob here and I don’t offer much advice with my noob status.
But I have played a few games as the huns.
The fact that you don’t need to build houses means you really should just pump villagers and farms and wood harder earlier.
Instead of 20 villagers, get 30 before you make your push.
The extra 10 villagers is only 500 food and with no houses required you are set to zoom with your villagers early game.
Atleast that’s how I did it.
I’m sure I’ll be told I’m trash by someone but that’s my 2 cents!
February 17, 2023 at 6:21 pm #13312ezreal3kGuestNoob here too, but I only do ai for the time being.
I only do villages until castle, then monks, about 50-70 vil and building heavy defense.
Once I get imp age I build 2 hand sword on Malay by the way.
And spam like crazy.
A eco game early, defense game mid.
And endless food and spam trash to end it slowly.
Is 50-70 or even at my peak 120 too much?
Maybe too much or impossible against real people matches.
But ai for now good?
Edit.
Malay for the fact that next age so fast, trash unit.
And it’s a naval civilization so if there is surprising water map I can handle it too.

Lower click up would be like a 19 population scout rush(less villagers for wood, because you’re only making 1 stable and just require food for scout production).
Another strategy is 22 population archer rush.
This allows more villagers to be gathering wood and also gold(which you need the wood to build 2 archery ranges since you need to produce more bowmen compared to scouts to be effective w rushing your enemy, and they also require wood to be produced, along with gold).
Anywhere between 19-23 villagers before clicking up to feudal is ideal.
The main tip to give to any new player is to ALWAYS be producing villagers.
The #1 thing that puts you behind in comparison to your enemy is villager count.
If he has an army of 15 bowmen and you may only have 10 skirmishers(the counter to archers) at that moment, but you have 8 more villagers then he does, you are able to reinforce those skirmishers at a faster rate(if you’ve built an additional archery range due to having more wood then him) as well as at a more consistent rate then him.
Top players will continue to produce villagers until they hit 120-140 villagers total, which is to consistently sustain and reinforce an army of whatever composition they require at any given moment.
You will find that the games you’ve won are more often then not the games you have a higher villager count then your enemy.
However, you will need to then learn how to distribute your villagers properly to the needs of your military, but that is a discussion to be had with yourself on what your needs are in any given situation.
