My friends and I enjoy playing with mods, such as a boar marker and other tools.
I’m wondering if these mods make a significant difference in the game or if they are simply convenient.
The only mods I have are those that are aesthetic, like the Daut Castle one and a lighter color one to make green look better.
What do you think?
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4536supervoegliGuestits not about “finding” the woodline.
its about placing a lumbercamp optimally
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4537NyacreepsGuestYou can’t send your vills in a vill fight without their boxing gloves
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4538WombozMGuestGrid mod helps with building spacing and finding holes in walls and calculating range for units.
Small trees help see holes in walls and enemies hiding behind.
TC Range mod helps not suicide units to arrows and lets u know when enemy is in range of your tc.
Fish borders mod saves time finding fish.
Better idle marker mod helps you see if you have idles quicker.
Small walls mod removes some clutter.
Useless plant remover mod saves time from distingushing between ambiance and actual trees, makes building easier.
Building indicator mods save time to know which foundation is making which building.
Most mods are used to save your brain some processing time by making the game cleaner rather than more realistic/visually appealing.
The mod may seem pointless or “tryhard” but you’d be surprised how much they can help in terms of improving your awareness and speed in game.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4539csgonemes1sGuestHonestly, small trees is the only mod I absolutely need.
They should integrate it in game settings like they’ve done with grid mod and range indicator.
Will address the one Titanic game I play after every update.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4540Ptee92GuestOnly mod that makes real impact is small trees.
It is literally impossible to micro woodline vills on correct trees if the lumbercamp is behind the trees.
Besides if that rest can be helpful in minor ways, but are by no means really impacting gameplay.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4541Mathantastic123Guestabsolutly makes a diference, yes, if u put viper to play with no mods, he is still the viper, hell still play well, so its not like a mod is gonna make you a better player, but it absolutly helps.
U say u can manage ur woodline without small trees, I wonder how that woodline is, how do u quick wall it, if u intentionally pick the woodline in the north so that u can see ur villagers, cause its impossible to properly manage a woodline in the south without small trees.
For mods other than small trees, its kinda personal preference, it can make a diference, but its a pretty small diference.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4542NesquGuestThe issue with the vanilla trees is that you straight up can’t see what’s 2-3 tiles behind them.
An enemy can have units right below a vanilla tree and you’d be unable to spot it.
It also makes it unnecessarily difficult to get a lumber camp down.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4543total_score2GuestCube mod is optimal.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4544Sivy17GuestI absolutely hate all the graphics mods for gameplay purposes.
It reminds me of playing Command and Conquer Renegade back in the mid 2000’s and people would load up skins to make all the C4 explosives and tripmines bright yellow so you could see them.
Back in my day, we hid outposts behind enemy trees.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4545PantheristGuestI recently discovered that the floral berries mod does for mills what small trees did for lumber camps
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4546Upper-Preparation-76GuestI recently changed to the AnneHK resource panel just to try it and it’s honestly night and day how much more noticeable the idle vil icon is.
I love it.
Just changing it from the base version’s yellow circle to the red square bell is so much more striking and easier to notice.
I’m finding that with this mod I’m taking care of getting idle vils back to work much sooner than previously.
Other than that, I think small trees are a must for efficiency and for walling.
I also really like the fish borders mod, base game fish borders are very easy to overlook.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4547MysticMarblesGuestWhenever it updates, I lose vils like CRAZY because I can’t micro my woodline for shit.
Small trees is an absolute game changer.
I also like the enlarged mini map, just find it easier to glance at and get info from.
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4548Apprehensive_Alps_30GuestI would never play ranked without mods
January 26, 2023 at 3:11 pm #4549NoeleVeerodGuestI don’t really think playing Modded or Vanilla makes a difference in your skill as a player.
Never affected me, at least.
