Is Hill fort just arena lite basically?
From what I played against people just went castle UU for the most part.
Also the RNG of berries outside your base or not is pretty bad.
When do you go for Caravels over Galleons if not against Longboats?
Possible to hotkey certain buildings in AOE2 HD like in Starcraft 2?
I.e.
Set a Barracks to “1” so when you press “1” it takes you to the Barracks screen which you can make units on.
If not, what’s the AOE2 HD way of doing this?
How do I queue move commands in AOE2 HD?
I come from the starcraft 2 world where you can shift right click a bunch and have a unit move to all those places, but when I do that in AOE2 HD it just puts a bunch of flags on the map and the unit never moves there
Been “forcing” myself to play MAA as an opening.
Finally getting the multitasking down without idling/floating/running into the TC a ton 11
This last game I was up against Lith.
Malians /MAA for for me.
I took him off berries and forced a tower on an exposed woodline.
He opened scouts/skirms.
He already had 5-6 skirms as he was anticipating the archer follow up.
But I was late with my range and decided to transition into a 2 stable knights for castle.
It felt gross but caught him off guard since when I showed up with the knights(I was up faster) he had a few more skirms ready.
He then went mass pikes.
From there I took relics and boomed to imp and won.
When is a early tech switch like this a “good idea”?
Felt like I was gonna be way behind on archers since I wouldn’t have a mass going into castle.
I feel like the “archer” part of the MAA-archer build my weakest point.
All the way from getting the range/blacksmith to constantly producing and microing Vs skirms
If I lose to Portu again on Arena I’m going to fucking scream.
Sorry just venting!
Can’t remember a more oppressive civ as long as I’ve been playing to be honest, at least one which goes so long without being fixed.
You do everything right and still lose because it takes so long to get to Redemption monks and then you STILL need RNG and then they just go Light Cav or Imp anyway.

Is there a reason why some unique units are created in the castle and others in their associated military building?
Is that done flavorwise or just for balance reasons?
With regards to the Polish folwark:
Is there any benefit in overlapping the areas of influence of multiple folwarks?
For example, since a folwark immediately harvests 10% of a farm’s food, if I built two folwarks with a three tile distance between them and built a farm in that space directly between them, would both folwarks affect it and harvest 20% of the food immediately?
How would you approach playing against Goths as Bengalis on…
1.- Arena?
2.- Arabia?
The general rule against Goths is “don’t let them boom into Goth flood”, but this is precisely what Bengalis are good at, aren’t they?
With no Hand Cannoneer, no FU Champion and no Infantry killer (yeah, bonus reduced Elephants but Goth Halbs are free, and Huskarls omega kill Elephant Archers), what can you do?

For someone like me who hasn’t been playing against real people much or have the chances to talk to others who do play this.
I know know certain things but not other common things.
For example tc is towncenter but what is fc?
I see it sometimes but no idea.

Anybody else have more fun with the Aoe2 tournament than the superbowl?
My game has become extremely laggy.

Like ESPN for aoe2?
Liquapedia is cool for checking brackets but I need a summary to digest because I’m not always watching the bracket or vods.
