It Has Been More Than Two Weeks and Windows 7 Users Cannot Play the Game Anymore.

Windows 10 is a minimum requirement to get the game to work.
It was never intended to work on Windows 7.
If you really don’t want to upgrade, but want to play Age of Empires II, you’ll have to stick to HD.
I don’t think Definitive Edition ever supported Windows 7 to begin with.
It even says Windows 10 in the minimum system requirements.
But in a context of developers working I think ‘over two weeks’ is like 2 seconds ago.
If it takes half a year to make a road map image which was promised ‘in the coming months’, I think you’re in for a disappointment if you think less than a month is a remarkably long time for a promise regarding OS support
I wrote a report to Microsoft and they immediately answered me that they dont support Win7 :/ Im on Win10 now.
I wish you guys good luck, maybe they just fix it at some point, but the fact they didnt fix it in the first 1-2 weeks is a really really bad sign.
Atleast that were my thoughts
Can’t ditch users that weren’t officially supported.
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Win 10 always the recommended and minimum OS?
The devs are pretty clear that Win10 is the minimum OS requirement, so I’m surprised they ever supported it on Win7.
Seems to have been more of a courtesy thing.
The comment from the one dev seems to indicate that they do intend to try and fix the issue anyway, but my guess is that the turnaround time would be longer than 2 weeks.
I’m sure they have higher-priority tasks in their backlog.
I do think you should try Win10 on your home machine.
A lot of the complaints people have with it can actually be with how their employer configured workspaces than Win10 itself, so you may find that it’s not so bad assuming that’s the case!
If that’s still a no-go for you, perhaps you could try finangling something together on a Linux distro.
I do think that, as-is, you’ll run into this issue more as Win7 becomes increasingly obsolete.
