Hello everyone!
I am looking forward to meeting with Sandy next week for another podcast.
It has been a while since our last one, and I am sure many listeners enjoyed it.
Are there any particular topics or questions you would like me to ask him, or any ways I can make this episode even better than the last one?
I have already asked him if he has played Age of Empires 4, but unfortunately he has not, so I am not sure how much we can discuss on that topic.
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14022ElavidGuestAsk him who programmed the pathing in AoC and if they are looking for another job.
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14014Tyrann01GuestHere’s one: “If you were to add more civs to AoE1, who would be at the top of your list?”
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14015Zyklon00GuestAre there other game mechanics that were once thought of to be in the game but that are not at the moment.
Like the ratha getting a treatment samurai maybe would have gotten from the start
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14016white_equatorialGuest1.
How exactly were the HP of units decided, so as to make blacksmith upgrades effective and worth getting?
2.Since stone is the least available resource on maps, was there ever a plan to allow users to get stone when stone ran out?
3.What exactly was the reason for the decision to allow TCs to be able to garrison in aoe2?
This decision probably made the game much much better than aoe1
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14017burlapturtleneckGuestI would love to hear him speak on the console release in general but also specifically about the interface and his thoughts on it.
With him having done Halo Wars and designed an RTS game with controllers in mind I think it would be cool to hear what he thinks about how they adapted a game after the fact for the console port.
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14018BasicWrangler4444GuestAsk him about the new Indian civs and his thoughts on knightless civs in general, since he designed the other knightless meso civs.
Also curious to see what he thinks about aoe1 being ported onto the aoe2 engine.
Would also love to know if he’s tried aoe2 definitive edition.
Ask him about all the major tournaments the game still has.
If you could somehow show him some clips of the longest aoe2 game that would be great.
Also some other great clips like reubenstock villager fights.
Or just Socotra in general.
Would also be entertaining to show him mbls rage against arena and monks.
Also ask him how he would nerf Sicilians.
The devs must be running out of ideas since they weren’t nerfed last patch
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14019FloosWorldGuestWhat are his thoughts on AoE 3 DE’s DLCs (i.e.
adding the US as a standalone civ whereas they already exist as a revolution) and AoE 3 finally featuring maps set in Europe?
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14020Character_Pitch_4582GuestWhy Central Europe architecture for Huns?
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14021leading_suspectGuestIt’s a bit open-ended, but perhaps things they really wanted to add but were limited by time or the game engine.
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14013AzurenautGuestI would love to see him reacting to the poles finally being added to the game.
Basically an extension of the video guessing the new civs units but including Dawn of The Dukes and Dynasties of India.
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14023dcdemirarslanGuestSo many civs have access to Eskirms, does he agree with that?
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14024mesocyclonic4GuestWe’ve had several game mechanics added over the past few DLCs that have been said by some to not be within the design philosophy of AoE2.
Q: During development, were there any interesting mechanics proposed that were rejected because it didn’t fit the design philosophy of the game?
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14025Apocalypso-YouTubeGuestWhat civilizations were in the consideration stage for The Conquerors, but never got implemented?
What kinds of future expansions were planned?
February 19, 2023 at 1:02 pm #14026Dry-Juggernaut-906GuestAsk him what he thinks about adding new African (like Somalis, Kongolese, Nubians, Beninese etc) and American (like Chimu, Tarascans, Tlaxcalans, etc) civs to the game and if they fit the game.
