Hey everyone, I’m playing Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.
When I play the Empire Wars mode, there is an eye in the castle.
If I upgrade it, the map will be revealed.
If I don’t want that upgrade to appear, what settings do I need to adjust so that it won’t show up?
The technology you are referring to is “Spies”, it’s unlocked in the Imperial Age, and grants visibility of all enemy units once researched.
The primary purpose is to let you defeat players who hide units all over the map when they have clearly lost.
There is no setting, or need to remove it, as it is far too expensive to be worthwhile in almost any situation where you haven’t basically already won.
