Anonymous PlayerMemberI have improved my sheep scouting technique so that even if my opponent finds me quickly, I will not lose all my sheep. However, I am not sure how to gain an advantage in this situation. Going to their base to get their sheep is not an option because they are already at my base, trying to kill my boars.
I have to defend my boars, which means their scout can attack my villagers. Meanwhile, they are calmly scouting their own base, collecting boars, and gathering the remaining sheep at the end.
Since they probably do this every game, they are likely better at starting scout micro and laming. I understand that it is a risk for them, but it doesn’t help me if they show up at my base in the first 15 seconds.
Is there anything I can do to punish this strategy, or do I just have to play smart despite the disadvantage?

iswerimnotblindGuesti just trade hp so he cant fight vils or try to take a boar, its the easy solution.
If oponent is smart he is not going to let u do that so just take your boars fasterMarch 3, 2023 at 11:22 pm #17238
adquenGuestAh, I remember the feeling, especially when an early eagle shows up at your base. I still hate it, tbh …
What I learned:
– Trade scout HP, if you can. The less HP they have, the less scary they are. Getting even one vil hit in means you win a scout fight.
– Bring in boars earlier than you usually would. One less thing to pay attention to
– Vils go out in pairs of two. Like don’t send the first wood vil to the wood line, but set it on a straggler. Then when the second vil would go, send them together.
– Make sure vils far from the TC stay close to each other by shift-clicking them on wood and berries. By which I mean: Don’t just send them to a tree, shift-click them a close follow-up tree already. I found this way easier than constantly checking on them.March 3, 2023 at 11:22 pm #17239
boxersaintGuestWhat’s your elo?
If you lose sheep that early then you can either go steal their sheep, push some deer, or deep an early farm or two (put a few more vills on wood).
As for defending boar, they’ll take a pretty direct path to their tc if they’re taking it home, and you can see the boar moving in the fog of war if you’ve previously scouted the area. Use that to find him, block his scout, and let the boar kill it.
Depending on your elo, this is probably a lot of apm for the other guy so just keeping your head down and pushing deer probably lets you break even or come out ahead.

supervoegliGuestsounds like a classic case of “try to do it yourself to find out about the weaknesses”.
if your opponent scouts/lames you early, that means they most likely cant find their own shit in time, which you can use to your advantage. the only way they can lame you and still keep all their stuff is if you panic, overreact and “protect” your base, while they chill at home and push a million deer.
