Idle Military Held in Reserve

I recently found out that I can cycle through military units by pressing and holding a specific key. It’s a new discovery for me and it feels unfamiliar. However, this method does not apply to villagers who are not in use or buildings.
Which hotkey is this? Select all idle military? How does it group them?
