I Keep Forgetting to Make New Villagers

Age of Empires II is a game with 20 years and its players have developed an instict of keep creating villagers by pressing the create villager hotkeys through all the game.
It’s considered a skill.
I personally think that it doesn’t add much value and it could be automated.
You won’t find any mod to do this because it would be considered as cheating.
The only hope is that the developers add auto-units creation feature, at least to the Xbox version of the game.

100% muscle memory.
Play enough games and you’ll start to do it in your sleep.
Having a select all TC hotkey that’s easy to reach is a good start though.
I recommend you either change your “select all town centers” hotkey to something easier to hit, or get comfortable with ctrl + shift + h.
In my opinion, you want to be constantly selecting your tc and ensuring that your vils are being produced, even if you don’t need to look at your tc, which is why I use select all TC hotkey even with only 1 tc.
If vils are not being produced, queue them up.
If you don’t have food to queue, go town center with H, force drop from food gatherers and then queue them up.
Hotkeys for me was the biggest game changer for going back and forth from scout and TC and keeping vils queued.
put a timer that beep every 25sec.
this will alert you to create villager..
change H to select all TC
get in the habit of hitting H+Q randomly…once in a while check how many vills you have queued and unqueue them
In the upper left corner of the screen you can see units being produced.
Look up there constantly and make sure you’re always seeing a picture of a lil guy
Learn hot key to tc and hot key to make villager.
For me it’s H A and I do it constantly
I added the select all tc without cycle to tab and that has helped a bit.
Some games I’m still at 40 to 60 vills averaging 55 but I have noticed and up trend and several games I’ve had the vill high like 93 and sometimes the vill high is 73 either way that’s still more then before
Just have to remember.
It’ll take time, but you’ll get it.
